A birthday to remember

Are you among those who, just like TopVintage, are celebrating their birthday in April or have a birthday coming up in the next few months? You can be certain of one thing: this birthday is going to be a memorable one! And it won’t be because you celebrated by throwing the most fabulous party EVER (or maybe it will thanks to the tips listed below ;-)), but because celebrating your birthday in these challenging times simply won’t be the same. This also means that you won’t be organising a regular birthday party any time soon. But don’t be sad. These tips will help you make your special day as special as you are. Let’s get the party started!

Host a virtual happy hour with your friends
Invite your friends for a virtual happy hour, by using a platform like Skype for example. Arrange a time beforehand, share the recipe of your favourite cocktail so everyone can mix their own and make sure you have plenty of snacks at hand (very important). If everyone has a playlist of their favourite songs at the ready (you can use Spotify or YouTube), you can all take turns picking a song and the rest can dance and sing (at the top of your voices of course ;-)) along. Did somebody say shots? It’s also great fun to play games or a quiz this way. Good times!

Order a festive outfit for the occasion
Your birthday simply won’t be complete without a new outfit (from TopVintage), right? Treat yourself to a beautiful dress, fabulous pumps and some glamorous accessories. And why not go all out this time? Match your outfit with the perfect vintage hairstyle (like these vintage victory rolls) and try out a new make-up look. It’s a great way to spend any extra time that you have on your hands right now 😉 Once your look is complete, you should have a photoshoot at home. Fun to post on social media but also great as a tangible memory of the occasion. After all, this birthday is definitely going to be a birthday to remember.

Life is better with confetti… and balloons
Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy balloons and that’s kind of the same thing 😉 Decorate your home with balloons, confetti, bunting and glitter for that real birthday vibe!

Gourmet dinner at home
With many countries shutting down restaurants, cafés and pubs for the time being, many restaurants resort to delivering their food right to your doorstep. So why not use this to your advantage? Find out which one of your favourite local restaurants is now delivering food and then make a point of only ordering food that YOU like. This will make for a delicious meal without you having to spend hours in the kitchen!

Car parade
Organise a car parade with your family and friends. How? Ask people to decorate their car with fun texts and decorations and then drive by your house honking and waving. This way you can create a party atmosphere in the street while everyone still keeps a safe distance. You will definitely feel like it’s your birthday!

Bake your favourite cake
Last but not least; bake a birthday cake! Because you can’t have a birthday without some cake. Here you can find some delicious recipes that will inspire you to get your bake on. Which recipe will you try? I can’t wait to find out!

As a vintage lovin' lady, I write about everything relating to retro fashion & lifestyle and mix it with a pinch of humour (because why take life so seriously?). My motto: Live life to the fullest!
